Mark Shelly served more than 25 years at the Lee County Sheriff's Office in Florida, an agency of more than 1,800 staff serving more than 800,000 residents, finishing as Colonel. As its chief technology officer he ran the enterprise software, CAD and body-worn camera rollouts, built its drone programme and designed several real-time intelligence centres. He was Incident Commander for Hurricane Ian. He now runs LEVELD, advising public safety agencies on modernising their operations.
Mark's career at the Lee County Sheriff's Office spanned patrol, criminal investigations, narcotics, major crimes, special investigations, incident command, special operations (SWAT), waterborne tactics, communications and executive command. He was Incident Commander for Hurricane Ian and several other large-scale natural disasters, with multi-million-dollar budget oversight and large-scale project and construction management.
As founder and principal consultant of LEVELD he advises public safety agencies on modernising operations: real-time operations centres, drone programmes, dignitary protection and specialty response vehicle design.
