GELS — Global Executive Leadership Summit
An executive leadership summit for serving police chiefs and commissioners, co-designed and delivered by GCG with the IACP and CACP at the Banff Centre, Canada.
GCG co-designed and delivered the first Global Executive Leadership Summit (GELS) with the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP). It is a three-day programme for serving police chiefs, commissioners and senior law enforcement executives, run at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Alberta, Canada. Delegates work on their own command problems with their peers rather than sitting through lectures.
The curriculum covers executive wellbeing, decision-making under scrutiny and the leadership problems chiefs bring with them.
The summit programme
Day 1 — Foundations
Establishing the leadership foundations: shared challenges, executive wellbeing and the disciplines of leading at the highest level.
Day 2 — Explorations
Delegates work in small groups on public trust, technology adoption and workforce attrition, using cases from their own forces.
Day 3 — Community
Delegates leave with peers in other jurisdictions they can call on directly.
