Profile

Christopher Wan delivered NSW Police's Insights artificial intelligence platform and the $100 million business case for its Integrated Connected Officer Program. More than 30 years managing large-scale IT programmes across government, insurance, banking and telecommunications. Security cleared to NV1 level.

Chris's recent work sits at the centre of policing technology. At the NSW Police Force Digital Technology and Innovation Command, Chris ran delivery of the Insights platform, which gives officers and detectives biometric, object and vehicle recognition. He then wrote the $100 million business case for the Integrated Connected Officer Program, covering officer-worn devices, weapons integration with body-worn cameras and a technology platform fitted across the NSW Police vehicle fleet. A working concept police car was built to prove it, and the programme was funded in full.

His earlier career spans insurance, banking and telecommunications: the single insurer claims platform for icare NSW, QBE's Steadfast Client Trading Platform programme, Allianz's national dealer portal, B2B integration at NBN Co and IAG's award-winning claims transformation, with long tenures at IBM, KAZ Group and Fujitsu before that. He holds a Bachelor of Science in computing and accounting systems design from Macquarie University, is qualified in ITIL, PRINCE2, PMBOK and Agile methodologies, and co-authored an IBM technical Redbook on deploying Tivoli infrastructure at scale.
