Warwick Jones

Warwick has dedicated much of his career to leadership and leadership development. He is deeply committed to helping people in public safety to leading more effectively and serving their communities more effectively.

Warwick has practiced and taught leadership at many levels in numerous organisations and environments; has held several senior executive and board roles; led and participated in organisational cultural reform programs; and has worked both locally and internationally to create unique learning programs for leaders in public safety, law enforcement, national security and private sector. 

The first phase of his career was serving in the Australian Army. During these 25 years he led teams from 5 to 500, had several training roles and served in a complex peacekeeping mission in Bougainville.

In his second career he worked extensively in public safety particularly law enforcement at the Australian Institute of Police Management. In several roles here including as Executive Director he led a profound change in the way senior police leaders are developed and educated in leadership. His work took him around the world including extensive work in the Pacific, Asia and the US. Highlights of this work included the development and delivery of the ground breaking Police Leadership Strategy, extensive work with building police leadership across the Pacific, an active role in delivering, developing and governing the Leadership in Counter Terrorism Program and building the reputation of the AIPM nationally and internationally. 

Warwick is passionate about helping leaders and teams to grow their potential by challenging and testing assumptions, improving their capacity and creating lasting insights. He combines the practical experience of his own leadership journey with extensive leadership development knowledge, insight and experience. He has completed a number of executive development programs including the Harvard Kennedy School Art and Practice of Leadership Development and the Conversations at the Growing Edge coaching program.
